Hardly Working

Hardly Working is a 1981 movie starring Jerry Lewis. The movie was critically panned; Roger Ebert called it, "one of the worst movies ever to achieve commercial release in this country, and it is no wonder it was on the shelf for two years before it saw the light of day."

'The World's Funniest Man Is Back' was the tagline used to market Jerry's 'comeback' movie. This was his first film appearance since 1970's Which Way to the Front?. It was rated 'PG', which is significant because it was the first time Jerry Lewis appeared in a movie that wasn't rated 'G'.

Filmed in Florida in 1979, this comedy follows Jerry as an Bo Hopper, an unemployed clown, who goes from job to job, wreaking havoc along the way.

''Hardly Working'' was co-written and directed by Lewis. It runs 91 minutes, and was released in Europe in 1980, and in the United States on April 3, 1981. It was released on VHS in the mid-1980's, but has yet to see a DVD release.
