Plot

Ruby Weaver (Marisa Tomei) hadn't found the right man after a series of failed relationships until she meets Sam Deed (Vincent D'Onofrio). After briefly dating he tells her he is really from the year 2470. She initially passes his story off a sex game but after constant persistence she takes him to go see her shrink Maggie Ann "Meg" Ford (Holland Taylor). Until the final part of the third act it is unclear whether Sam is telling the truth or delusional. Finally the psychiatrist is shown talking to Deed about also being a "back traveler" from the future. It is also revealed that Weever and Deed have meet several times before in different realities and that she will die again if she isn't careful. At the end the odd book Deed has with "Chrystie Delancey" written all over is revealed as the intersection where Weever will be killed by a car. Deed runs into the street just as Ruby is about to be killed and reverses time through his apparent love for her.
