My Reality TV Confessional
When it comes to reality shows I like to pretend I have discerning tastes. For example I watch Amazing Race to see the wonderful destinations they travel to, I like Survivor just for the competitive games and not the silly squabbles that occur.
It’s time for me to come clean. I watch them all. anything I can get my hands on. Paradise Hotel was the guiltiest of all my pleasures. To me it was watching a train wreck. So horrible and revolting to see people in such an awful situation, but I just couldn’t turn away.
I also find there is a correlation between what time they air. The later they are televised the more likely I am to watch complete trash.

Avoid the “Let’s be Friends” Trap
So you’ve got a crush on a women who has fallen into the friend zone. How did this happen? Maybe you’ve made fart jokes or said something insensitive. There is still room to flip the romantic switch.
Whatever you do it has to be gradual. I’ll give you a few examples of what would scare her off or creep her out, versus something that would give her the subtle idea that you may have a charming bone in your body.
DON’T
Grabbing her hand in a movie or asking her for a slow dance may be a bit too drastic.
DO
Try opening a door for her or perhaps switch things up by tossing a mild compliment her way.

Dating and Mating on the Internet
“More than 40 million Americans log onto personals sites”, according to a recent survey by MSNBC and Elle magazine, “in search of a serious love connection or a quick fix.” The question is - are they finding it? Listing several interesting statistics, the article includes some interesting discoveries, including:
Among survey respondents, 58 percent of women and 55 percent of men have logged onto a personal site. Of these, roughly half of the women and 36 percent of men said that personals sites have made a positive change in their social life. The sites are also impacting their sex life ? 73 percent of women who?ve gone on real dates with cybermates have slept with one or more of them.
73% huh…? Maybe I should consider switching my online dating service.

First Daughter (2004)
The movie was penned by Jerry O’Connell, who you may remember as the chubby but loveable Vern from Stand By Me. Who has matured into a very attractive young gent, but not too crafty as a screenplay writer. This movie makes me question if he really fell off the train tracks while filming Stand by Me and hit his head causing damage to the portion of his brain that is responsible for logic.
When you hear that Forest Whitaker is attached to a film you automatically think it will be a quality movie. Throw in Katie Holmes as the feature star and you still think you’re going to love it. Add Michael Keaton to the mix and you know it’ll be worth your money at the box office. Not so fast people…this movie had some great names attached to but unfortunately it took a wrong turn somewhere.

Does Speed Dating Work?
According to a recent article by Carolyn Campbell at DiscoverHealth.com, speed dating has proven to be fairly successful, with approximately half of all participants coming away with a potential match. While this figure may seem a bit high considering you only get to meet your potential match for seven minutes, the success may indeed come from the fact that the arrangement is still a fairly “unconventional” method to meet a potential mate.
