Date.com Selling Your Privacy?


According to a online direct marketing magazine, Date.com has put a for sale sign on 4 million of its users e-mail addresses. Ironically, the article describes Date.com as a “victim of the spam fallout” that has had to look at other ways of generating revenue. WOW! Talk about contributing to the problem. Sell the list so that other companies can send mail that wasn’t asked for.

That doesn’t seem to matter to Date.com though. According to its founder Brad Shapiro, ?it’s pure profit.” And best of all, his boss, wants him to figure out the best way to put members’ postal addresses on the market.
