Early life
Abhishek is the son of Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan and renowned actress Jaya Bachchan. His sister is Delhi-based Shweta Bachchan-Nanda. He did his schooling at Bombay Scottish School and also went to Aiglon College in Switzerland. He then went to the United States to complete his education at Boston University. Although he made a strong debut in J.P. Dutta's ''Refugee'' along with Kareena Kapoor in 2000, the movie was not considered a success. In 2004 he starred in ''Dhoom'', produced by Yash Raj Films, the film was a huge hit. In 2005 he shot to fame with four consecutive hits, viz. ''Bunty Aur Babli'', ''Sarkar'', ''Dus'' and ''Bluffmaster''. He recently won his second Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for ''Sarkar''
Personal life
He was engaged to actress Karisma Kapoor in 2002 but broke up soon after. Recently, much media attention has focused on Bachchan's alleged romantic involvement with fellow Bollywood celebrity and Miss World 1994, Aishwarya Rai. Gossip has linked him with a number of actresses.When not shooting, Bachchan lives with his parents.
