Things you don’t want to mention in your personals ad: your fear of gel pens; your fascination with berber; your Guinness record for longest nose hair; and…well, here’s a whole website of things.
If you’ve done any online dating, you know how crucial your profile is to obtaining the desired results. Some people even enlist professional writers to cast them in just the right light. You want to avoid trite phrases like, “I love children and pets,” or, “I’m a strong man who’s not afraid to be sensitive.” You want to be specific about yourself. But not too specific.
Some people didn’t get that profile-writing memo, however. Those people believe you absolutely, positively want to know all about their unusual relationship with their parrot or their obsession with lint. And this, before you’ve even met.
Those people deserve to be mocked. Luckily, Lorina is doing just that. Here, you can read real personals ads and ad responses from people too dumb or drunk to know better than to describe their genitalia in detail in their first e-mail to a prospective mate.
