Celebrities Beware Valets

It always seems like a PR scam when celebs go to the most popular restaurant or club and are shocked when there is paparazzi waiting for them when they exit. The E!Online Answer Bitch has shed a bit of light on how the paparazzi get their tips.
From E!Online:
Most of the time, paparazzi act on tips instead of waiting around and praying for a payoff. Most often, photographers will offer to pay valets, bouncers, bartenders, waiters or promoters anywhere from $20 to $50 for every tip that leads to a celebrity snapshot. Ergo: A valet simply parks a celebrity’s car, gets on the cell phone and calls his friendly neighborhood paparazzo, who comes screaming around in a black van within minutes. The paparazzo offers the valet a bill, and everybody’s happy. Other types of businesspeople–say, store owners–might tip off a paparazzo for free if it means a little publicity for the company.
