Date.com Selling Your Privacy?
According to a online direct marketing magazine, Date.com has put a for sale sign on 4 million of its users e-mail addresses. Ironically, the article describes Date.com as a “victim of the spam fallout” that has had to look at other ways of generating revenue. WOW! Talk about contributing to the problem. Sell the list so that other companies can send mail that wasn’t asked for.
The article also talks about some of the other online marketing methods Date.com is having success with. What has worked best? Pop-up ads!
