AskMen.com: Is Dating Only Easy
If you take a look at some of todays sitcoms you’ll see a few common looking bloaks married or involved with gorgeous women. Is this realistic or is this because the majority of TV execs are average looking guys trying to live vicariously. Take Dennis Franz and Charlotte Ross from NYPD or Jim Belushi and Courtney Thorne-Smith.
“Remember the Julia Roberts-Lyle Lovett romance? (And she married him!) Or how about Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob? (Ditto for her!) How many times have you seen a knockout with a schnook and asked yourself, “How the hell did he manage to snag her?” And not all of these schnooks play in the band!”
Acccording to Doc Love from AskMen.com “the subject of looks is an interesting one in your writings. On the one hand you say that by being a Challenge, Mister Average can get an A+ babe. In other articles, the Reality Factor (common sense) dictates that women respond to attractiveness as much as men do, and that you have to be realistic about what you have as far as looks go.”
I don’t spend very much time wondering if I’m an ‘A’ babe or not, but I’m confident enough to know I won’t break any mirrors. On the flip side I don’t necessarily look for a guy who is going to turn heads. The ‘nerd turned cutie’ is who I keep my eyes peeled for. A gent who has developed his brain along with his physique as the years roll along. Dating the pinup from elementary who rolls out of bed with everything in order would be tough to deal with.
And what makes the dating game all the more interesting, Richard, is that there are many types of attractiveness. We’ve all seen some beautiful women with some real strange-looking dudes, haven’t we?
Would love to hear your two cents…
